Louisiana Gold Nugget Hushpuppies

Ingredients

• 2 cups  Vegetable Oil
• 1/2 cup  milk
• 2 cups  Yellow Corn Meal
• 1/2 cup  Whole Kernel Corn
• 1/2 cup  flour
• 1/4 cup  Green Onions, sliced
• 1 pinch  salt
• 2 tbsp  Louisiana Gold Hot Sauce
• 1 tsp  Black Pepper
• 1 small  Onion, finely chopped
• 1 ea  Egg, beaten
• 1 tsp  Baking Powder

Directions

1. Heat oil in deep cast iron pot to 350 degrees F.
2. Combine corn meal, flour, baking powder, salt and pepper in a large bowl.
3. Add diced onions, egg, milk, corn, green onions and Louisiana Gold hot sauce.
4. Mix well.
5. Batter should be smooth and lump free.
6. When oil is hot, spoon in hushpuppies using a tablespoon.

Yield: 12 hushpuppies
Preptime: 5 minutes
Cook time: 2-3 minutes
